Who We Are
On October 25, 2020, Benjamin Adam Richter was born sleeping and was taken into heaven as the newest guardian angel. His devastated parents and family had a closet full of clothes and supplies waiting for him at home. They wanted to make these things available to other families and babies who could use them. Other people wanted to help, and soon, Ben's death turned into a way to help others.
The concept of Ben's Closet, envisioned by his parents and grandmothers, would become a way to help other newborns who needed some extra supplies. Donations to this fund would be used to fund car seats, pack n' plays, and diaper bags filled with needed items.
Ben's mother, Jessica, a doctor at a local underserved clinic called KC Care Health Center, thought to develop this program at her own clinic. To date Ben's Closet has raised over $27,000 of donations that have helped provide items to Jessica's pregnant patients and their newborns. In these gifts, Ben's spirit would live on.
Every penny of your donation will go towards this cause and will continue to support these patients for years to come. One-time, recurrent, and/or annual donations on Ben's birthday are all welcome. Thank you for helping to make this tragedy into a meaningful and worthy cause. God bless!
